Huntington Beach Art Auction
Thursday, April 12th, 2007
You will be able to see this painting (and another one) and bid on them at the Huntington Beach Art Center’s Seventh Annual Benefit Art Auction opening Friday, May 11 with an artist’s party from 7-9 p.m. Silent bidding continues until the live auction Saturday, May 19, 7-9 p.m. Last years was a lot of fun. Lots of good art, good food, and the wines a pourin’. Hope to see you there!
The District Weekly has been unleashed
Wednesday, April 11th, 2007
A new paper in Long Beach has just hit the streets lead by a handful of ex-OC Weeklings and it is just an amazingly colored smordgasboard of area-specific inside-ness. (wha?, I know)
I am so excited for a few reasons: I love the OC Weekly, or at least the creative and clever geniuses that made me laugh and live and learn for the last 10+ years. Secondly, allegedly, they love me too, because my art is featured on pages 24 and 25 and it’s really gigantic and colored, and if I’ve ever been naked in a paper, it might as well be now. Um, yea.
Well, if you’re in or around Long Beach, pick up an issue, buy ad space, and support The District Weekly, inseminating this coastal town every Wednesday.
Paintings off to Seattle
Saturday, April 7th, 2007I just cut, sanded, gessoed, painted, collaged, resined, sanded more, stained, cut keyholes, photographed, wrapped and packaged 11 paintings that are now en route to Seattle. Being an artist is a LOT of work. And on top of that, I am crazy, like Monica from Friends or something. Here are a few paintings that will be at Velocity (and will be for sale).
Here is my care instructions card I made for the backs of my resin pieces.

Now that my head cold is allowed to finally kick in (because my adrenalin is subsiding) I think I will relax to a viewing of The Last Unicorn, which I was going to review except Evan “Mushy” Jacobs beat me to it AND he ate my Whatchamacallit.
