This Weekend: Love with a little Honey

Tuesday, July 31st, 2007

once-upon-a-dreamThis weekend is a busy one! First up we have our finished piece for The Hive Gallery titled “Once Upon A Dream”. This opening you get to don your pj’s and I might have a vintage nightgown or two that could very well make their way into the public eye. See you there Saturday night sometime between 7 and midnight!

Secondly, and definitely not last even though the title suggests that type of order, is “At Last”. I chose the title after Etta’s lovely at-lastrendition of the song of the same name and I just really love that image of having something you always wanted…at last. Yet the painting isn’t really about having that thing, but more like have everything you need to have the thing, but the thing isn’t there to have. Hmmm…maybe you can find out more at the opening! Oh, and it is a one-night-only engagement, so if you want to see this baby in person, you gotta come then!

You can see “At Last” at Thinkspace Gallery Saturday night in the group show Untitled Love Project organized by .ISM: a community project. See you there between 6 and 11 p.m.!

Join me for a workshop at the Huntington Beach Art Center this Sunday from 1-3 p.m. It’s a drop-in anytime-between-those-hours type of workshop and we’ll make these “Eye of God” weavings crafts that are part of the Native American tradition. Great for the whole family!
See you then!

Or Mr. Calendar. Today and lastnight is all about the paint! And the cat. And coffee. And music. And more coffee. And birds. And yea.

Here are some works that I’m working on. I am actually working on a ton of paintings, so it is not unreasonable to expect you might be seeing more of these today. I am happy to be so busy with all this teaching, but I am really loving these little moments I get to take for myself and paint my own ideas. So I better get on with it now!
