¡Yay for Saturday!

I am not altogether resolved on why Saturday intrinsically holds an air of freedom and uncertainty, especially since I don’t hold down a 9-5 job and don’t have school every day of the week, so for me it should seem arbitrary. But no, Saturday really feels like everything Saturday has wanted to be for hundreds of years ever since Saturday, named after the Roman god of Saturn, became Saturday. Maybe because it’s the only day of the week named after a pagan god? Maybe because it precedes a day a “rest”, so psychologically we are ready to run ourselves into exhaustion? Maybe because culturally it has evolved to be this day of spectacle, fun, and anticipated interaction? Maybe because if you’re born on this day, you are able to see vampires?

Well my Saturday is complex and exciting. I anticipate going into the studio. But first I will laud Saturn, the god of agriculture, by going to the UCR Botanical Gardens, which I have recently begun a tempestuous affair (that means I go there). Actually really first, I have to water my lawn.

Next I will go to my mom’s housewarming party and see more chaos, of the Dionysus kind…

Also, here is like a teaser trailer version of my newest painting that looks really small here, but it’s actually 30 x 40 inches or so. I have actually progressed further but that footage is still in post-production. Take care, have a great weekend!
