Mom, where do paintings come from?

I realize I skipped a couple steps here, but you get the idea. Perhaps I will be more diligent in the future to take more shots of the evolution. Sounds fun. Well, hey its still not over!

I like these “where do we come from” kind of questions…I remember pouring over encyclopedias when I was a little pup because our household didn’t really have books, aside from this seemingly expansive encyclopedia collection. And the paintings would always stand out. That and the people, biographical data. And the animals. Ok, well everything stands out. But that one painting, “Where did we come from and where are we going?” Ok, just researched it. It’s titled “Where Do We Come From? What Are We? Where Are We Going?” by Gauguin. Being young and very concerned with death (you know, worrying your parents were going to leave you one day forever was the most harrowing of thoughts), the title set forth a very poignant series of questions that struck me and left me without an answer. It’s those unanswerable questions that lead you to most amazing places I guess.

At last, here’s my living room, or part of it. The important part I guess. Oh, the coffee table I painted black! Yes. And the plant whose leaves are shaped like hearts.
