Happy New Years!

Monday, December 31st, 2007

Have a safe and happy New Years Eve and Day! Today I have just been doing house projects, like staining a little table I picked up from an estate sale, and now I will probably just watch a movie with my significant other. I wish we were playing Taboo though. So fun!

Here’s some recent projects I’ve been working on, or recent findings…all mostly house stuff.

Lily’s personal tree…you can see how protective she is:

New kitchen curtains (my first try at a balloon valance thing…will try again at some point):

Got it Covered!

What an exciting surprise to get on the cover of this issue’s The District Weekly. There is also a lovely spread inside the paper with two more pieces. The artwork accompanies the lead article “Happy Now?” that gets to the root of LB women’s (un)happiness, and having lived there for five years, I will have to say–it’s the lack of parking!

I bet everyone is as busy as can be. Tis that season, ey? This holiday I decided to make my own gifts (as I often do) but this time instead of a Christmas CD, little paintings, almond biscotti, or quilts (how I love quilts!), I ventured into jewelry making. Well what started out as a modest attempt to make earrings, has turned into trip after trip back to the store for necklace material and accessories in every metal. Now my pockets are empty, but my loved ones ears and necks are glowing and wonderful, well except Brian’s. That loved one is getting a good kick in the pants.

Here is one of the paintings I’m working on. It is slowly changing, but I’m not sure where it’s going. Perhaps it’s a rehabilitation project.
