Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

It has been a very bakerly holiday for me, as I am taking a stab at year two of candy making.  I think it’s definitely my thing.

I love seeing my kitchen like a creative studio, filled with different stages of the baking process…..

I mostly made truffle-like things although there are some actual baking things, like Russian Tea Cookies which I added lemon and almonds to, which made them just extra yummy.

So this is sad, but I’m moving.  Like nearly everyone else in the country right now, the house I rent is in foreclosure and is getting auctioned in less than a week.  I’ve been busy trying to find a place to live but right around the holidays, it is no easy feat.  Reluctant to move, I am savoring my home now. Things like turning this room…

It’s going to be so sad to leave this place, sooner than I expected.  Hopefully I will find home soon.

Happy Thanksgiving Sale!

I just added some new things to the shop and I thought what better time to have a sale than around now!

For the next two days, you can buy 1 print get 1 of equal or lesser value FREE! The sale will end Friday 11/27 9:00 p.m. EST.

I wish I had more time to post things….hopefully this weekend I will have time.  I have been working in my studio and I have some new work, or works in progress.  I think the color is off on the bighorn, but it’s after midnight, my fingers are frozen, and I’m already hungry again (!).

I also am including some photos of my studio in its latest state.  It’s fun to see how it changes and evolves…

Well I hope everyone has a lovely Thanksgiving tomorrow and gets to spend some time with those they care about. I can’t wait to see my family and to play Taboo! and Boggle!

More Recent Works

Friday, November 13th, 2009

Here are some more of the works that were in my little show at the Phyllis Gill.  I finally had a morning to sit and edit some photos and I also added these cards to my shop at Etsy.  This weekend is going to be a long-awaited catch-up weekend.  Ahhhh, feels nice to finally get things done.

honey

Well I guess I am taking more photos than writing, so here are some recent things.  Went to a wedding a few weekends ago and this was their sweet little present!  Inside the wrapped things were a haunted photo of the lucky couple at Knott’s Scary Farm and then Brian tossed in a nice camera.  The rest are things to keep them going and going.

Also, sometimes in the late part of the day I walk around my house with my camera. I think I really like right before dusk and dusk.  I love when everything starts to darken, but there is still enough light to see.  I love the grays and act of the day retiring into night.  When the sun is really low and warm hued it breaks inside the west-facing windows, and graffitis the wall with a little bit of itself.  I love watching light move I guess.
