Phew!  It sure feels good to have the hard part done.  I just installed ten brand new paintings (many are wet) today at the Phyllis Gill Gallery at school (UC Riverside) for a little show that I wanted to have to kick off the school year.  I didn’t realize how large the gallery was and I’m so glad I managed to have enough work to fill it, but because the pieces are all mostly small, there is plenty of breathing room.  I set the lighting and that was pretty fun too.  Sweaty but fun.  The reception is this Thursday, October 1 from 5-7 p.m. if any of yous are in the area.  I will post some pics of the new work very soon!  Hope your weekends were splendid……

Good News!

modelLily is recuperating very well from surgery to remove what has turned out to be a benign mammary tumor!  My cat is making up for lost time; no vet visits for maybe 2 years and now we’re caught up for the fees as if she had.  But she is good and that’s all that counts!

Now onto other animals!  Have you seen this ridiculous video?  I was painting animals all day and then went home for dinner and what was on?  None other than unlikely animal friendships.

I am getting ready for a little show I’m having on campus at the Phyllis Gill Gallery, and like usual, I am working to the last minute.  It will be up Monday, September 28 thru Thursday, October 8.  I will have the postcard scanned and up soon!  First need to install…Eeks…

Lily in Surgery

Monday, September 21st, 2009

boobookittyetsyI am not myself today. Even though I dropped Lily off at the vet this morning, I’ve been hearing funny house noises that sound like her.  Even the bird chirps faintly sound like her.  I keep thinking I hear her walking around, jumping on things.  It is so weird to be here, and she isn’t here.  But she is at the vet today to remove a mammary tumor (could be a cyst, hope its a cyst!).  Yea, that doesn’t sound good, but I told her it can’t be malignant, so we’ll see how good she listens.  Her chances of having this are super slim to begin with as she was spayed as a kitten.  I get to call at 2 p.m. today so wish me luck!  Get to pick her up at 5 p.m.

Date Weekend…

Well it has been an official date weekend, and what better to do on a Saturday in September than go to a Halloween store and muse over the creepy props?  On our way there, we stopped by the Heritage House for a pretty neat tour about the history of an 1890’s Victorian built by a feisty widow just down the street from my house.
